A full run of books is heavier than most library specifications assume, and shelving that deflects is shelving that will keep deflecting. We build library racks and cupboards in welded, powder-coated steel from our own plants, and we size the run to the floor plan rather than repeating a catalogue unit until the wall ends.
The rest of the room matters too. Study tables, reading chairs, the glazed cupboards that hold reference and rare stock, and the step ladder that lets a librarian reach the top shelf safely — all made to the same standard and delivered on one programme.

Yes, and it is the right way to order it. Send the floor plan with the aisle widths and the ceiling height and we will set the run lengths, the shelf pitch and the double-sided sections to fit — rather than repeating a catalogue unit until the wall runs out, which is how libraries end up with a half-width bay at the end of every aisle.
We do not publish a load figure, because it depends on the shelf length, the depth and the gauge specified for your order, and a number quoted without those is meaningless on a tender. Tell us the shelf length and what is going on it and we will confirm the specification in writing for that scope.
Yes — most institutional orders are. Send the drawing, the room layout or just the quantities and the sizes you need. Where an item is a variation on a model covered by one of our BIS licences we will say so, and where it is a fresh design we will say that too, because the two are not the same thing on a tender document.
Yes — single and double-door glazed cupboards for stock that should be visible but not handled, and solid steel cupboards for restricted material. Both can be supplied lockable. They fall under the same BIS licence to IS 17634 as the rest of our storage.
Send the bill of quantities, the room schedule or the tender document. You get back a priced scope against your line items and a dated delivery programme, and we will tell you plainly if any part of it is outside what we manufacture rather than quoting it and buying it in later.
