Radar & Communication Shelters

Mobile, deployable platforms for surveillance, radar and secure communications — engineered for tactical, disaster-management and border-security deployment.

Service information

Advanced defence communication infrastructure.

Finex radar and communication shelters provide mobile, deployable platforms for advanced surveillance, radar systems and secure communications infrastructure. Engineered for rapid deployment in tactical, disaster management and border security operations, they offer environmental protection, electromagnetic shielding and operational flexibility for critical defence systems.

The shelter is built around the equipment rather than the other way round: RF-transparent roof panels and rigid antenna mounts where the aerials go, segregated shielded cable trays for signal and power, redundant cooling sized for continuous operation, and vibration isolation under anything precise.

What we make

What we manufacture and deliver.

Any one of these can be contracted on its own, or the whole interior delivered under a single award against one drawing set and one schedule. Everything listed is manufactured, supplied and installed by us — not sub-let after award.

  • Shelter Variants

Four configurations off one shelter platform, chosen against the role.

    • Standard Radar Shelter (SRS) — air defence radar, air traffic control and surveillance radar deployment.
    • Communication Shelter (ComSh) — satellite terminals, radio frequency systems and signal transmission equipment.
    • Integrated Surveillance Shelter (ISS) — combined radar and communication capability in a single unit.
    • Mobile Command Post variant — configured for command, control and coordination.
  • Antenna & RF Integration

The parts that make it a radar shelter rather than a box.

    • RF-transparent roof panels and rigid antenna mounting with vibration damping.
    • Segregated shielded cable trays, RF-suppressed bulkhead connectors and waveguide penetrations.
  • Power & Climate

Keeping the equipment fed and within temperature, wherever it is deployed.

    • Integrated power conditioning, UPS backup and optional diesel genset integration.
    • Redundant HVAC with automatic switchover and real-time temperature and humidity monitoring.
  • Interior & Serviceability

Laid out as one interior, and designed to be serviced in the field.

    • Operator console area, equipment room and maintenance access designed as one interior.
    • Field-serviceable design with removable panels for service and upgrade.

Standards & compliance

Built to the standards this work is inspected against.

Wording here is deliberate: we design and manufacture to these criteria.

  • Environmental MIL-STD-810H — military environmental testing and operations.
  • Electromagnetic MIL-STD-461G — electromagnetic emission and susceptibility.
  • Protection NATO STANAG 4569 — protection levels for military vehicles.
  • Compatibility IEC 61000 series — electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Security TEMPEST — electromagnetic security for classified information.
  • Containers IS 1964 and IS 3970 — Indian Standard container specifications.
  • Certification the standards above are the design and build basis for these units. Third-party test certification is agreed and confirmed per contract before supply — ask us for the current position on any standard you intend to specify, and you will get a straight answer rather than a brochure claim.

Why Finex

Why departments place this work with us.

  • 01

    Built in our own plants

More than 1,00,000 sq. ft. across two units near Nashik. The container modification, the structural welding, the fit-out and the finishing stay under our control instead of being sub-let after award.

  • 02

    Standard logistics platforms

Built on ISO container platforms, so a unit moves on the truck, rail and airlift chains a force already operates — no special handling equipment to procure alongside it.

  • 03

    One contract to handover

Structure, shielding, power, climate control and interior fit-out on a single order, with one schedule and one name on the handover certificate.

  • 04

    Straight answers on compliance

We will tell you what is certified, what is built to a standard and what still needs testing, before you specify it. An awkward conversation early is cheaper than a rejected inspection.

FAQ

Questions we get on this scope.

If yours is not here, ask — we would rather answer it properly.

Yes — that is the normal case. Layouts are tailored to the particular radar or communication system going into the unit, including the RF distribution, the antenna mounting and the thermal capacity that system needs. Send the equipment schedule and we will design the interior around it.

Between 30 and 60 minutes from pre-positioning to operational, with a trained crew. The unit is self-contained and designed for austere sites with reduced water and utility dependency.

On standard ISO logistics — truck, rail or helicopter. That is the point of building on a container platform: it moves on the chains a force already runs, with no special handling equipment.

Yes. Multi-shelter integration is available as a customisation, giving network capability between units for a larger installation.

Our plants are at Gut No. 243/1B, Pimpalnare, Dindori, Nashik, Maharashtra – 422004. We build there and deliver pan-India.

Send us the drawing.

A tender number, a specification or a drawing set — we will confirm what we can build and by when, within two working days.
